Mechanic Service Provider Agreement
Provided by AutoMechanics LLC
This Mechanic Service Provider Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and AutoMechanics LLC (“AutoMechanics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and applies to Mechanics who use AutoMechanics to offer and perform automotive services for Customers. This Agreement does not change the independent-service-provider structure of the marketplace.
1. Independent Business Relationship
You operate as an independent service provider running your own business/service activity. Subject to applicable law, you control the manner and means of performing repair work. This language does not automatically determine worker classification under every law.
2. No Employment Benefits
Subject to applicable law, using the marketplace does not itself entitle you to employee benefits from AutoMechanics.
3. Taxes
You are responsible for maintaining accurate tax information, reporting income, paying applicable taxes, self-employment obligations where applicable, and business licensing. Payment partners may issue tax forms or report payments when legally required. Stripe does not “handle all of your taxes.”
4. Tools and Equipment
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, you supply your own tools, equipment, transportation, supplies, and safety equipment.
5. Licensing and Insurance
You must maintain licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications required for services you perform. You must maintain insurance required by law and any marketplace requirements communicated to you. Display of insurance status does not mean coverage was verified unless verification actually occurred.
6. Vehicle Operation and Workmanship
Obtain lawful authorization before driving or moving a Customer’s vehicle. Perform accepted services professionally; follow applicable safety standards; do not work beyond your competence; communicate material scope changes; obtain authorization for additional paid work; avoid unnecessary damage; and comply with law.
7. Estimates / Quotes
Provide honest quotes. If diagnosis reveals additional required work, use the supported supplemental authorization process rather than unilaterally increasing charges.
8. Customer Property and Information
Reasonably protect the vehicle, keys, property, and Customer information obtained through the job.
9. Safety and No Harassment
You may leave or refuse service if there is a legitimate safety threat. Report safety issues in-app. Zero tolerance applies to threats, harassment, and serious discriminatory conduct.
10. Verification and Background Checks
You agree to applicable verification requirements. Background-check disclosure and authorization are separate processes and are not completed merely by accepting this Agreement.
11. Payouts
Eligible earnings, platform fees, processor handling, payout timing, holds, refunds, disputes, and chargebacks are described in marketplace payment disclosures and the Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy. Funds are not described as “escrow” unless the legal/payment structure actually qualifies.
You may not use AutoMechanics to find Customers and then deliberately complete the work off-platform to avoid marketplace service fees. Off-platform payment requests and fee-avoidance solicitations in AutoMechanics messaging are prohibited.
12. Disputes and Platform Records
Cooperate reasonably with dispute investigations. The platform may rely on accepted quotes, timestamps, messages, payment records, uploaded evidence, and lawful location/job events.
13. Ratings and Suspension
You may receive Customer reviews and may report policy-violating reviews. Verification fraud, serious safety incidents, payment fraud, or serious repeated violations may result in restriction or suspension.
14. Expenses and Authority
You generally bear your own business expenses unless a specific platform program states otherwise. You have no authority to bind AutoMechanics or sign agreements on its behalf.
15. Liability / Indemnity
You remain responsible for your workmanship and conduct to the maximum extent permitted by law.
